Israel (Srul) Zunder (Rachel)

Beloved brother of Miriam Ross (Sidney), passed away peacefully on August 1 at his home in Raanana, Israel after an active compassionate lifespan of 96 years, which spanned diverse careers starting with his family's green grocers (Zunder's Fruitland) in Ottawa and then became a "super computer" programmer and system analyst. In retirement he did a hodgepodge of work and volunteering that always involved engaging with people and their stories.

Born in Ottawa, son of the late Isaac and Batya (Pessie) Zunder, brother of Miriam Ross (late Sidney Ross), and brother-in-law of Lilian Zunder (Mark), he was predeceased by his brothers Sam (Sandra) and Mark Zunder and is survived by two children – Yali (Yakov) and Rennen, six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Srul will be buried in Israel. Miriam will be sitting shiva in her home on Monday 7:00 – 9:00 pm, and on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
